Delix Therapeutics, a neuroscience company developing novel neuroplasticity-promoting therapeutics for psychiatric and neurological conditions, today announced the regulatory approval and initiation of recruitment of a phase I clinical trial of lead candidate, DLX-001, a non-hallucinogenic psychoplastogen.
The trial will enroll approximately 100 healthy volunteers with the primary objectives of assessing safety, pharmacokinetics, psychometric functions, and markers of brain activity and synaptic plasticity at the Center for Human Drug Research (CHDR) in the Netherlands, a world-class institute specializing in cutting-edge early-stage clinical drug research.

DLX-001 is the first of several psychoplastogens in the Delix platform to be approved for human trials. Delix’s approach is based on the work of company co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer David E. Olson at the University of California, Davis, who discovered several novel psychoplastogens that have significant therapeutic potential in preclinical models, without hallucinogenic side effects inherent in first and second generation psychedelic psychoplastogens.
