U.S. Congress (Freedom to Heal Act) (N/A): Bipartisan 'Freedom to Heal Act' would open Right to Try access to psilocybin and MDMA
Senators Cory Booker and Rand Paul, with House companions Madeleine Dean and Nancy Mace, introduced the Freedom to Heal Act, which would create a DEA-regulated physician registration process allowing patients with severe, life-threatening conditions to access Schedule I 'eligible investigational drugs' such as MDMA and psilocybin under the federal Right to Try framework. To qualify, a drug must have completed Phase 1 trials. The bill signals continued federal momentum on psychedelic access for veterans and terminally ill patients.

New Mexico Department of Health (N/A): New Mexico's Medical Psilocybin Advisory Board convenes, eyes accelerated launch
New Mexico's newly formed seven-member Medical Psilocybin Advisory Board held its first public meeting, where state health officials revealed plans to launch the medical psilocybin program by the end of December 2026 — roughly a year ahead of the legislative deadline. The board is tasked with setting clinical standards, training, licensing and care-delivery rules for qualifying conditions including treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, substance use disorders and end-of-life care.
