PharmAla Biotech announced it completed release testing on its first batch of LaNeo MDMA 40 mg capsules manufactured in Australia, a step toward localizing supply for the country's Authorised Prescriber scheme. Domestic Australian production could shorten supply chains and strengthen PharmAla's position as a commercial MDMA supplier in the world's only market that regulates MDMA as a prescribable medicine.

AtaiBeckley Inc. (ATAI): AtaiBeckley granted new U.S. patent for oral R-MDMA candidate EMP-01, extending exclusivity to 2043
The USPTO granted AtaiBeckley a new patent covering the drug substance of EMP-01, an oral (R)-MDMA formulation being developed for social anxiety disorder, providing expected exclusivity through 2043. The patent claims a highly crystalline, thermodynamically stable HCl salt form with high aqueous solubility. EMP-01 is in exploratory Phase 2a, with topline data expected in the first quarter of 2026.

UTHealth Houston / UTMB Health (State of Texas) (N/A): Texas awards $50 million for public ibogaine clinical trial consortium
UTHealth Houston and UTMB Health were awarded $50 million from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to lead the IMPACT consortium, a two-year multicenter trial evaluating ibogaine for addiction, traumatic brain injury and other behavioral-health conditions. Authorized under Senate Bill 2308 and joined by a broad group of Texas universities and hospitals, it represents the largest publicly funded psychedelic research initiative to date and aims to pursue FDA-approved trials with drug-developer and hospital partners.
