(TSXV:IBO), a life sciences company with a mission to deliver medicalized ibogaine-centered addiction care, is pleased to announce the formation of an external Advisory Board as part of its strategic plans and mission to deliver medicalized ibogaine-centered addiction care and to undertake a planned clinical trial application process.
The UI Advisory Board is intended to allow the Company to draw on a broad range of expertise and experience of its members from various fields, including medical practice, First Nations leadership, psychedelics research, government relations and grant funding. The initial members joining the UI Advisory Board include:
Melissa Lavasani– Melissa Lavasaniis Founder and Executive Director of Plant Medicine Coalition, a Washington DC based organization advocating for all plant medicines and their synthetic derivatives at the national, state, and local levels. Melissa proposed DC’s Initiative 81, “The Entheogenic Plant and Fungus Policy Act of 2020,” after entheogenic plants and fungi helped her overcome severe postpartum depression. As Chairwoman, she successfully ran the Decriminalize Nature DC, the campaign supporting the historic passage of Initiative 81. After the use of psilocybin and ayahuasca helped her reclaim her life, Melissa was motivated to change laws in the District of Columbia so that other residents would not face the same fear of investigation, arrest, and prosecution for using psychedelics to heal themselves.
Marcos Moura-Marcos Moura is co-owner and Chief Development Officer of Amada Franchise Inc., a brand dedicated to enriching the lives of our rapidly aging population. Marcos has received Recognition for Amada Senior Care including Top 10 Best New Franchises to Invest In” by Entrepreneur Magazine, #245 on Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500 Ranking and Inc. 5000 fasted growing companies. Marcos has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs grow businesses that allow them to live life on their terms and do work that is meaningful to them, their families, and their communities. Marcos holds an MBA from the University of Southern California (USC) and works and lives in San Clemente, CA, with his wife and three boys.
Grand Chief Jerry Daniels –Grand Chief of the Southern Chiefs’ Organization (“SCO”), which represents 34 Anishnaabe and Dakota communities in southern Manitoba. In January of 2020; Chief Daniels was acclaimed for a second term noting that this is the first time a Grand Chief has run unopposed in SCO’s history. Chief Daniels graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, and he is the owner of Innovative Educational Business. Collectively First Nations are one of the key drivers of Manitoba’s economy, and Chief Daniels focus is on improving the quality of life through key initiatives in the First Nations health care experience, including designing and building community care models consistent with the evolution of the children’s welfare system as envisioned by southern First Nations. Grand Chief Daniels serves on boards and councils at the local, regional, and national levels.
Travis Hayes– Travis Hayes is the founder and CEO of Hayco Construction, a design-build general contractor with extensive experience in the development and construction of medical facilities across Canada and the USA. Travis is leader in addiction recovery in his community and has personally experienced the incredible healing powers of ibogaine, and like others who have done so, Travis is dedicated to bringing the medicalized ibogain.
