CBS’s 60 Minutes recently re-ran an episode on the continued growth of psychedelic medicine in the research field. With multiple cities already voting to decriminalize psilocybin, the timely report shared various stores of how the drug has been used in therapy.

Stories ranged from one man getting cured of his smoking addiction, to another woman being able to deal with stage III lung cancer. The common theme throughout the episode was inviduduals finding peace in their lives through the experimental treatment.

Among those interviewed was also Michael Pollan, author of the psychedelics book How to Change Your Mind. Pollan had previously tried psilocybin therapy, and wrote in the book of the positive results he felt afterward. Pollan even found the experience too hard to put into words without sounding “like a Hallmark card.”

But he, like many others, couldn’t deny the results.
