New Mexico Department of Health — New Mexico's newly formed seven-member Medical Psilocybin Advisory Board held its first public meeting, where state health officials revealed plans to launch the medical psilocybin program by the end of December 2026 — roughly a year ahead of the legislative deadline.

The board is tasked with setting clinical standards, training, licensing and care-delivery rules for qualifying conditions including treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, substance use disorders and end-of-life care.
