AbbVie / Gilgamesh Pharmaceuticals (ABBV) — AbbVie agreed to acquire Gilgamesh Pharmaceuticals' lead asset bretisilocin (GM-2505), a short-acting 5-HT2A agonist and serotonin releaser in Phase 2 development for major depressive disorder, in a deal worth up to $1.2 billion in upfront and milestone payments.

A Phase 2a trial had shown a single 10 mg dose meaningfully reduced depressive symptoms versus a low-dose comparator. As one of the largest big-pharma commitments to a psychedelic asset to date, the deal was widely read as validation for the sector and lifted publicly traded peers.
