New York-based drug developer creating novel psychedelic and neuroplasticity-based compounds for psychiatric disorders spanning depression, anxiety, addiction and schizophrenia. Its lead asset was bretisilocin (GM-2505), a short-acting 5-HT2A agonist in Phase 2 for major depressive disorder; other programs include blixeprodil (GM-1020), an oral NMDA antagonist, and a cardio-safe ibogaine analog. In August 2025 AbbVie agreed to acquire the bretisilocin program for up to $1.2 billion, with Gilgamesh retaining its other pipeline assets.
